Family is central to many of our lives and is made up of very
important, meaningful relationships. However, those we are closest to are often
the same people we have the most conflict with. We work with families to help
them improve their communication and understanding of each family member’s wants
and needs. We believe that it is important for families to have healthy
boundaries with enough flexibility to make changes when necessary.
In working with families in therapy, we believe that it is
important to meet with all family members that are involved in the issue or
concern whenever possible. This allows all family members to have their thoughts
and opinions heard and helps minimize assumptions made by other family members.
Common issues addressed in family counseling are: conflict (between siblings,
extended families, parents and children, or families and outside stressors), and divorce and
